Climatology Concentration (B.S.)
Required courses in the Major-33 hours, including: ATMS 103, 205, 241, 251, 261, 305, 310, 320, 405, 410, 411, 420, 455.

Required Courses outside of the major-34 hours distributed as follows: CHEM 111, 132; CSCI 142 or 201; MATH 191, 192, 291, 394; PHYS 221, 222; STAT 225; Recommended courses: MATH 341 and STAT 321.

Special departmental requirements: Competency requirement met by a senior comprehensive exam. Oral competency will be demonstrated in a presentation as part of the senior comprehensive examination. 

Weather Forecasting Concentration (B.S.)
Required courses in the major-30 hours, including: ATMS 103, 205, 241, 251, 261, 305, 310, 320, 350, 410, 411, 455. 

Required courses outside of the major-27 hours distributed as follows: CHEM 111, 132; CSCI 142 or 201; MATH 191, 192, 291, 394 (strongly recommended); PHYS 221, 222.

Special departmental requirement: Competency requirement met by a senior comprehensive exam. Oral competency will be demonstrated in a presentation as part of the senior comprehensive examination. 

Atmospheric Sciences Minor
20-22 hours in Atmospheric Sciences of which at least six hours must be at the 100-200 levels, and at least six hours must be at the 300-400 levels.

Certificate of Atmospheric Sciences
For those
who have already received a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution other than UNC Asheville, they can acquire a Certificate of Atmospheric Sciences (Certificate of Post-Baccalaureate Major) by completing all course requirements for a major but without the UNCA ILS courses.  More detailed information can be found here.
