Weather Resources

UNCA Atmospheric Sciences Department continuously receives real-time conventional surface and upper-air data, radar and satellite imagery, and model outputs through the Internet by a LINUX PC's running LDM (Local Data Management).   The students can access these data interactively by using GEMPAK and McIDAS 2005 meteorological applications.   

The department is grateful to the support from the staff at the UNIDATA Project Office in Boulder, Colorado, especially to Tom Yoksas, Steve Chiswall, and Steve Emmerson.  Thank you.
