After we calculate the geopotential height tendency from GRVT, can we add it directly to the previous height at 
the cyclone center or do we have to interpolate from the initial 1000 mb map somehow, given that it is a eulerian 
result?

You would treat the geopotential height tendency calculation in a fashion consistent with how you would calculate
explicitly the GRVT if you were starting with GRV at two different times. Since it is eulerian, the final minus
the initial value, divided by the change in time [in proper units] at a fixed earth-relative position. So, the
change in property (GRV or Z) would be at the fixed earth-relative position.
