Tour of the KOCO-TV broadcast facility, led by UNC Asheville alumnus and chief meteorologist Damon Lane.
Wednesday, 15 May 2024 (8:30—11:00 a.m.), SPC, National Weather Center

Tour of NOAA Storm Prediction Center with Bill Bunting, SPC Deputy Director, including an explanation of the role of each forecaster and a description of SPC products. SPC personnel will demonstrate how to determine where the severe threat is greatest for that day, simulating the job of an outlook forecaster.

Tour of NOAA Radar Operations Center and inside of a WSR-88D radome. Additional time for a tour of the Advanced Technology Demonstrator S-band, dual-polarization phased array radar.
